Close-up of three dresses.

Close-up of three dresses.

The three dresses in this presentation are excellent examples of the transition in fashion from the Victorian period to the Edwardian period. Two are prime examples of the S-silhouette. The third is a wedding gown that shows the changing form - a draped and narrow silhouette. The overall esthetic of the gown is western Chinoiserie, meaning Chinese-esque.
