MEET THE AUTHOR NIGHT REMINDER

Sep 9, 2016

This is a reminder that "Meet the Author Night" with Lois Benzino Sonnenberg is next Wednesday, September 14, 2016, 7:00 PM, at the City of Tonawanda Public Library.

The Society’s Fall 2016 Program Series will kick off with a special event featuring Tonawanda native, Lois Benzino Sonnenberg, who will discuss her new book, GASTOWN GIRL, and answer questions about the process of writing and publishing this fascinating memoir. Over the past few years, readers of THE LUMBER SHOVER have enjoyed some of the stories that Lois has submitted for publication. Now that her planned memoir has been published, we are pleased that she and her husband Otis have expressed a willingness to join us from their home in Bowling Green, Ohio for our September program so she can share more of her experiences in a live setting.

Lois Benzino grew up in the Gastown section of Tonawanda, graduated from Kibler High School in 1945, and went on to receive her nursing degree at the University of Michigan and a BS and MEd at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Her first book GRAVE TALES: A MOTHER GOOSE SPOOF was released in 2011. Her latest book, a personal memoir that traces her life from its beginnings in Tonawanda to the present day - a journey of more than eight decades - was published in June of this year.

After the program, attendees are invited to a reception where Lois will be available to autograph copies of her book. Light refreshments will be provided by the Historical Society.
